John Koblas is an exemplary researcher and historian with perhaps a fascination with outlaws. His Jesse James histories have put him as one of the top authorities in Outlaw History, and his three-volume history of the Dakota Uprising, Let Them Eat Grass, is as complete and unbiased a piece of work on the subject as ever has been written.
